In light of COVID-19 and the inability to house library programming indoors, this proposal imagines a temporary urban forest of pavilions spread across the front of the New Haven Free Public Library. Considering the sociocultural role of libraries today, the pavilions are adjusted by canopy condition, porosity of walls, and size in order to promote the programs of playing, learning, and housing community resources such as public seating and public restrooms.
